When my children fall into bed after a long productive day I will rejoice rather than pity them for having to work so hard… for the sleep of a laboring man is sweet… and the ability to enjoy the fruit of labor is a gift from God. Ecc 5:12,19  

Let my children think of ways to encourage one another (and the world) with outbursts of love and good deeds. Heb 10:24

Everyone has problems. Help my children see theirs differently and know that a problem is a sign they have a promise! As they suffer temporary situations or the actions of others they will learn to trust that You are steadfast and Your plan is to bless them… that as they suffer trials… if they persevere……

Teach my children the power of Selah (pause and reflect.) Don’t allow them to race through life without capturing the meaning. When they experience those ‘ahhh’ moments, they will pause, give thanks for Your constant companionship in their lives, and then strive to comprehend that You were there all along. Ps 3:1-8

Show my children that it is the condition of their heart revealed to You through their acts of obedience that define their worship as true or simply formalistic. Let them draw from the story of Cain and Abel the difference between a heart that seeks to please God and one that just jumps through the…
