I pray my children don’t become lifelong whiners… and I pray even harder that I don’t get sucked in by those who do! Give my children warrior spirits so they don’t freak out when they encounter trials (at least not for long!) Let me teach them (by example) to rise in the midst of adversity…

My children will be the salt of this earth, daily preserving the attributes of Christ within them so they may bring forth Your love to a hurting world. Lev 2:13, Mk 9:50

Somehow show my children (in a way that makes sense to them) that their job as Your child is to trust You… to be happy today even if they are in pain… For You have deprived it of power to harm them and have conquered it for them! Jn 16:33

Teach my children to be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in circumstances, for this is Your will for them in Jesus Christ! 1Th 5:16-18

Help me take my tired hands and stand firm on my shaky legs. Give me wisdom to mark out a straight path for my feet. Then my children who are following me will not stumble and fall but will become strong. Heb 12:12-13  

Help my children understand that feeling overwhelmed and alone is not a sign they are walking OUT of Your will. Even Jesus felt this kind of pain as he hung from the cross under the weight of our sins. My children are strong and able warriors. They will stay at their posts and not give…
