Fill my children with joy by revealing their shortcomings. Do not let them erect defenses against their own inadequacies and try to hide their faults from themselves and others. Let them embrace justified criticism for what it is… encouragement towards spiritual growth. Pr 15:5
As my children mature allow me to give them the dignity of making more and more of their own mistakes and then letting them learn from those experiences. They belong to You not me… keep me from hindering You from working in their lives by over parenting. Ro 12:16, 14:3, 14:23
Show my children that the true church isn’t a building but Christ’s body. Help them see that they are a vital part of that body and lead them to take their place. Open their hearts to receive Christ so they may receive the benefits of His presence. Eph 1:22-23
Don’t let my children compare themselves to others and conclude that they aren’t worthy because they are missing particular talents, attributes, or possessions. It was never Your intent for us to view our faith as a private personal matter. Engage my children with others to be a vital member of Christ’s body sharing life with other believers.
