May my children dwell in love, to live it and walk it out, and not just love for You but love in action for those around them. For in doing so they place themselves in Your shelter an can weather any storm. Psalm 91:1
When my children feel trapped and alone along the path You set before them, tell them to fear not and stand firm, confident, and undismayed. You promised to fight for them so they will not lose their peace as they rest in the comfort of Your embrace… like a small child in his father’s arms….
May my children STOP trying to humanize God. Yes, He loves those we perceive as bad… as much as those we perceive as good. We tend to love people based on their actions… God loves them based on who He is! Ps 107:15-20
Teach my children the power of prayer. Show them that You rescue others because of our prayers and that many will give thanks to God when those prayers we have been diligently praying for them are answered. 2Corinthians 1:11
Let my children savor the fruits of their own industry. Give them a spirit of independence so they taste the exquisite reward of freedom… then let them readily share the overflowing abundance of their hearts and their treasure… for when they truly love others my children will begin to see God’s hand working in this…
Help me take my tired hands and stand firm on my shaky legs. Give me wisdom to mark out a straight path for my feet. Then my children who are following me will not stumble and fall but will become strong. Hebrews 12:12-13
I know all about sin! Let my children admit their shame to me so that I can help relieve their guilt, lighten the heaviness and restore their spirits. I pray they take my hand … as I know the way to the cross! Galatians 6:1
And one more!!
Psalm 57:1 (Whole Chapter)
Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
Lest I give you all a false impression of my Biblical knowledge I used a search engine to find the verses that I vaguely remember. There are only a handful of verses that I actually know the “address” (citation) for.
Psalm 46:1 (Whole Chapter)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 62:7 (Whole Chapter)
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Isaiah 25:4 (Whole Chapter)
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Jeremiah 16:19 (Whole Chapter)
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
