May my children look to God alone for direction and not become dependent on the world to define who they will become. 1Sa 8:19-20
Keep my children from busying themselves with other people’s affairs rather than doing their own work. I will correct them as needed without becoming weary or losing heart in doing right. I will be consistent. 1Thessalonians 3:11-13
May my children remain practical and stand firm against the enemy using the tools they have worked with all of their lives. Prayer is more than a string of words or a list of requests; it is the act of intimacy with God. Coming into intimacy with You is the principal purpose of prayer. Let my children experience sorrow and deep grief for the wrong things they have done. They will come to You and ask forgiveness, therefore entering Your kingdom by humbling themselves. Evil isn’t present in Your kingdom… may their hearts reside there while still on earth so they may experience Your peace, the peace that passes…
Reveal Your magnificence to my children … use the mountains, the testing of someone like Nick Vujicic (worth Googling), or the wonder of the tiny snowflake … just help my children view themselves in relation to You so they may remain humble … for only the humble will be lifted up and their lives made…
Show my children that in every story of victory there are chapters of defeat. Teach them to estimate difficulty NOT in the light of their own resources but of Yours. Give them a spirit of adventure and confidence so they won’t be hindered by the traps of the enemy. 1 John 4:4
