Let my children hear the instruction of their father and not reject the teaching of their mother.
Proverbs 1:8
I pray my children humble themselves before You rather than forcing You to humble them. May my children find a quiet place to humble themselves before You today so that the boulders of their pride roll off their road to freedom which are blocking their spirits and lives from receiving all that You have planned…
Speak tenderly to my children after You chastise them so they will be more open to receive Your forgiveness and subsequently obey Your voice. Give me a tender spirit also so my discipline will be an earthly example of the freedom that follows repentance and results in obedience. Isa 40:1-2
I pray my children don’t become lifelong whiners… and I pray even harder that I don’t get sucked in by those who do! Give my children warrior spirits so they don’t freak out when they encounter trials (at least not for long!) Let me teach them (by example) to rise in the midst of adversity…
Pride is the bitter enemy of my children. Humility is their dear friend. May I humble myself before God so that humility will be mine. As my children witness my actions they will see with their physical eyes my transformation as I am given a humble heart. They will witness the blessing of God’s strength…
Help my children understand that many are called to God but few are chosen. They must put on the robe of righteousness when presenting themselves before God. Show them that Jesus Christ is that robe and then help dress them for the rest of their lives in Your eternal garment. Matthew 22:14
When my children complain they become confused when it backfires! May they learn to simply ask for what they need or want from me instead of assuming, demanding, or complaining! Php 2:14
