My children cannot throw out parts of the Bible they don’t agree with… they know this! Let them confess that Your works are marvelous, which includes their own bodies, inside and out! Let them learn that by confessing that they are wonderful is an act of praise to You. Putting themselves down is a direct insult to Your mighty masterpiece… Your children! And please remind them that You made everyone else too, that we are each remarkable creations making our way back to you, help them look past imperfections and cruel results of sin to see the original beauty You placed in each of us! Psalm 139:14
I pray your sword pierces my children’s souls so that the secret thoughts and purposes of their hearts may be brought out and disclosed… and if what they see is not pretty… I pray my children wake up, repent, and receive forgiveness. In doing so they will feel a spring in their step! Lk 2:35
We are commanded by Jesus Christ not to worry. Most of the trouble my children fear will never happen… worry is simply Satan’s tool to steal their day… and eventually their life! Mt 6:25
Somehow show my children (in a way that makes sense to them) that their job as Your child is to trust You… to be happy today even if they are in pain… For You have deprived it of power to harm them and have conquered it for them! Jn 16:33
Thank You for allowing winds to come against my children. For it is in weathering their storms that they develop the strength and character necessary to succeed throughout their lives. James 1:2-4
Show my children the importance of accepting other Christians, even when they don’t agree with them. Help them see that each person is responsible to the Lord and by His power He will help them do as they should, for You, God, have accepted them! Ro 14:1,4
My children will be patient and kind. They will not be irritable, rude, selfish, easily angered and will keep no record of when they have been wronged. Let me be a living example of your definition of love so they will grow in knowledge and wisdom and reveal this kind of love to future generations….
